Below is a list of tutoring issues and some suggestions to try:

I am being asked for payment to connect with a tutor

You should never be prompted to submit a credit card or sign up for a free trial. If you are getting this prompt, please review the suggestions below:

  • Access tutoring through the links in your Canvas classroom, never from the tutorme.com website. You will find the links to writing and library tutoring through the Writing Center & Library links in your classroom:

Yellow arrow pointing to the chat now button for 24/7 Writing Tutoring in the Canvas classroom.

Red arrow pointing to the 24/7 library tutoring button on the library's homepage.

  • If your course has subject tutoring available, you will also find the link to subject tutoring in your classroom. Click on the Tutoring on Demand link to access subject tutoring:

1. Tutoring on Demand button; 2. Live tutoring free button

During a pause in my tutoring session, I received a message that I am not being charged while the session is paused, but I thought tutoring was free?

Tutoring hold message

Yes, tutoring is a free service provided to you by the university. This message is standard throughout the TutorMe platform because these tutors work with other universities and clients whose sessions may not be covered. Therefore, the platform and tutors assume that all users are paying customers. Again, tutoring is a free service provided to UAGC students so if you receive this message while your session is paused please disregard it.

I am getting an error message when clicking the tutoring button

I am not able to connect with a tutor

  • If you are getting a "searching for a tutor" message that keeps spinning and no tutor picks up, it could be that all tutors are busy helping other students. Try again a bit later and see if you can connect then. If this continues to happen, please submit this feedback to the SuppportU Request Form so we can investigate

I sent a tutoring request through the chat icon on the TutorMe page and no tutor responded

  • The blue and white chat icon on the TutorMe site is not how to connect with a tutor. That icon is to get in touch with the TutorMe admin team. To connect with a tutor, fill in the pop-up box with information about the help you are looking for, and then click the Submit button:

The box in which you can describe your tutoring issue or upload an assignment that you need assistance with.

If you are still unable to access tutoring using these suggestions, please submit details about your issue to the SuppportU Request Form so we can help troubleshoot the issue with you.
