The library provides access to a variety of types of sources through subscriptions to various databases. These databases are run by different companies. Library OneSearch is a tool that allows users to search across several of these databases in one place and in one search. These companies sometimes partner to give you direct access to the result in a PDF or HTML format, but sometimes they do not and we have to link out to that database to get access to that article or book. This is when you will encounter the Check For Full Text option or some variation of this link when you select the Access options button when accessing the article.

If you have conducted a search using Library OneSearch, the Check for Full Text option comes up when you select the access options button.

1. Select the Check for Full Text link.

cursor hovering over the check for full text under the access options button

2. You will be brought to a screen that will show you what databases have the resource you want to access. select a link to head to that database and access the resource. If there are multiple links choose one.

Red box around database links under Full Text Finder Results.

Occasionally these links do not function as they are supposed to, but don't worry, there are some things you can do to still access these articles.

If there are multiple links offered, try another link.

If there is only one link, the good news is that not only do you know the article you want, you know what database it is located in.

1. Look at the results and make note of the name and the database that is listed.

Two links with the title of the database in the text of the link highlighted

2. Then go back to the library homepage and click on the Find Articles & More link near the top of the library homepage.

3. Select Databases A-Z.

4. Then look for the link that goes directly to that database.

5. Once in the database enter the title into the search box and click on the Search button.
