Unfortunately, the UAGC library does not have any control over the way that the various databases define and label articles or specific publications.
Occasionally different databases define “scholarly” in slightly different ways, and thus a source that is considered scholarly in one database may not be considered scholarly in another database. The majority of the resources are categorized the same throughout our various databases. This is why the library encourages students to use the Limit to Scholarly/Peer reviewed limiter. However, we do acknowledge that this is not a foolproof method of determining if an article is scholarly. For this reason, the final decision about the appropriateness of a given source for a particular assignment is left to the instructor.
If you are unsure whether a particular source is appropriate for an assignment, check with your instructor before the assignment's due date.
