You can also search to see if there are any scholarly articles on the film you have selected using the Library OneSearch box.

Library OneSearch suggested search strategy

You can check to see if there have been any scholarly discussions about a particular movie by using the Advanced Search option of Library OneSearch by clicking on the Advanced Search link located below the basic search box.

Yellow arrow pointing to the Advanced Search>> link located under the search box where you enter your search terms

You will then be taken to a page with multiple search boxes.

Advanced search in EDS for the film Goodfellas and the director martin scorsese

  1. Enter the name of the movie that you want to know about into the top box.
  2. To make sure that you get results about that work, enter the name of the director in the second box underneath or use a word like film or movie
  3. If you need scholarly sources, check the box labeled Limit to Scholarly/Peer Reviewed under the Filters section on the advanced search page before selecting search.

If you do not see any articles that work for you, you might want to try to expand your search by searching for articles that discuss some of the other works by that director, or information about that genre and relate it to the work you are discussing.

If you still have questions you can chat in real-time with a librarian here.
