The best database to use will depend on what kind of information you want to find. In many cases, you can start your search in the Library OneSearch box on the library homepage. This will allow you to search across most of the library’s databases at once. However, you may still need to search in other places.

Think of Library OneSearch as the “Wal-Mart” or "Target" of the library. You can find much of what you need at these stores, but if you need something more specialized, you’ll probably need to go to a specialty store (like a hardware store or a shoe store). If you don’t find what you need searching Library OneSearch, you may need to go to a database that specializes in a particular subject area for your research topic.

How to choose a particular database for your research.

Click on Find Articles & More in the red navigation bar near the top of the library homepage.

Depending on your research needs you can click on Databases A-Z if you know the name of the database you would like to use. Databases by Subject if you are researching a particular subject such as psychology or business. Databases by Type if you need a specific type of information such as primary sources or case law.

Databases A-Z, Databases by Subject, Databases by Type

Databases A-Z – Use the alphabet in the “Jump to” section or scroll to the section that contains the database you are looking for. For example, ProQuest would be found under P.
