If the full-text of an article is not available in any of our online databases or freely available on the web, you can try to locate a copy using our interlibrary loan system (ILL). Interlibrary loan is a service that allows library users to get materials from other libraries, at no cost to them.  As a student, staff member, or faculty member, you can get a PDF copy of an article to download and use for your own research project, typically within 3-8 business days.

Interlibrary Loan can be accessed by taking the following steps:

1. From the library homepage, click Services near the top of the page in the red navigation bar.

Yellow arrow pointing to the services link in the red navigation bar.

2. Then click Access ILL.

Red arrow pointing to the Access ILL link.

3. A new window will pop up containing important information about the process. Read through it and then click I understand. Take me to ILL! at the bottom of the page.

I understand. Take me to ILL! button on the ILL page.

4. From here, you will need to sign in to your ILL account or create one if you haven't already done so. If this is your first time using this service and you need to create an account, please see this tip sheet on How to Create an ILL Account.

5. Then proceed to create and submit your request.

For more information on how this service works please see the following video on How to put in an ILL Request.

If you still have questions you can chat in real-time with a librarian here.
