JSTOR (pronounced “jay-store”) is a database that provides full-text access to thousands of articles in leading academic journals from various disciplines such as the arts, sciences, social sciences, language, literature, and history. There is also a small collection of academic books. All of the content in JSTOR is scholarly.

To get to JSTOR:

1. From the library homepage, select the Journal Articles button located below the Library OneSearch box.

JSTOR search tips

  • Enter your keywords into the boxes. If you use a phrase, add “quotation marks” around the words. (Example: “environmental impact”).
  • If you want to look for journal articles look for the heading Narrow By and check the box next to Articles.
  • (optional) If you want to make sure you only see results published in journals from a particular discipline scroll down to the heading JOURNAL FILTER and check a box next to a discipline listed under NARROW BY DISCIPLINE AND/OR JOURNAL.
  • If you want primary sources, use the date range option to limit your search to only items published during the time period you are researching.
